Wettpunkt.com sucess inspires FB design campaign

Cowes-Torquay 24 March 2010 -- Though Wettpunkt.com was unable to carry Hannes Bohinc to a hat-trick title at The Cowes–Torquay–Cowes in 2009, his success with the Fabio Buzzi designed RIB has seen the boat become the flagship of FB Design’s promotion campaign.

Amidst particularly arduous conditions that August, with wind and rain swirling, Bohinc, fellow Austrian Max Holzfeind and Ed Williams-Hawkes had clawed their way back from fifth place at the halfway point of the contest to lead with the chequered flag firmly in sight.

A mere 1.5 miles short of the finish line, a twist of fate in the form of a ruptured fuel tank cruelly snatched the title away from them after almost four hours of grueling race action.

Despite the disappointment, Bohinc and Wettpunkt.com once again proved their credentials in a competition he had already come victoriously away from twice; “That’s racing!” he philosophically commented at the time.

giving those who were unable to attend the event the opportunity to see it in action.

It is now proudly positioned on the front cover of the FB Design RIB 39’ SF brochure, further demonstrating its immense impact in powerboating circles.
