Chris Davies, one of the worlds leading photographers of powerboat racing has been recognised for the quality of his work by the UIM in its annual photography awards.

Chris was the official photographer for the 10 day 2008 Round Britain Race and his shot of Wettpunkt leading the way received Bronze Award in the Atmosphere Category.

“I took this particular image from the event helicopter on the run from Bangor to Oban,” comments Chris.

“Wettpunkt.com was so far out in front, the weather was cold, dreary and grey, and seeing this boat single handedly taking on the elements reminded me of how small, isolated and vulnerable a powerboat can appear in such moody conditions.”

Another of the images from the Round Britain won Chris the coveted title of ‘Image of the Year’.
